Hormone synthesis in the thyroid gland

The thyroid gland stores iodine and forms iodine thyroid hormones (thyroxine, triiodothyronine) and the peptide hormone calcitonin. An animation, developed by the New Media Center, which uses pharmacology in teaching, illustrates which processes are involved.
